Provides radiological examinations and interpretations, including fluoroscopic and roentgenegraphic examination, roentgen and radium therapy and chest examinations of hospital patients.
The ultrasound section's Phillips HDI 4000 system is versatile with its high performance 3D and 4D diagnostic imaging technique used to visualize many internal organs, to capture their size, structure and any pathological lesions with real time tomographic images.
The 16-slice Helical CT Scan is featured here with its high-tech feature of reducing a patient's radiation exposure with its enhanced collimation, thus leading to a rapid diagnosis. This multi-detector system provides clearer, better, 3D pictures of anatomical structures
Featured here is the Theratron Phoenix External Beam Therapy System at the VMMC Radiotherapy section which provides a holistic approach to cancer care.
Flouroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continous x-ray image on monitor, much like an x-ray movie. It is used to diagnose or treat patients by displaying the movement of a body part or of an instrument or dye (contrast agent) through the body. Featured here is our radiology department's remote-controlled flouroscope system with an x-ray tube assembly over the patient table with recent advances that include the digitization of the images capture and flat-panel detector systems, which reduce radiation exposure for our patients.
